“Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth.” (Luke 2:14)
In the readings today from 1 Samuel chapter 2 and Luke chapter 1, we hear two faithful women proclaim glory to God. Both identify the mighty deeds God has done for His people.
Today, God’s people around the world, are faced with so much turmoil. Some find it hard to rejoice, hard to find peace in the midst of it.
All is not lost and God is still on the throne in the midst of it all. At the end of Mary’s Magnificat, she reminds us that “he remembered his promise of mercy.” (Luke 1:54) God is a merciful and compassionate father, that brings goodness to all His beloved. In a few days, Christ comes into our lives to fill it with that love and mercy. He comes into our hearts to let us know that there is hope for each of us through God’s plan of salvation. It’s our faith in God’s plan that allows Him to fill us with joy this Christmas as we rest in the peace of His mercy that He promises.
I invite you to look upon a Nativity scene today and be reminded of the mercy and compassion that God brings to us through this scene from centuries ago.
May your Christmas be filled with the glory of God who brings peace into the world, through your very own heart.

And …..You provided a beautiful nativity scene to take in and dwell on!!! ❤️ So many times it is the small little things that bring us back to what important. A Sun ray that suddenly shoots through the window highlighting a beautiful statue……
