“A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!”
Isaiah 40:3
Today we enter into week 2 of our Advent preparation. We are full of hope and ready to embrace our “faith,” the “love” God has provided from the beginning.
Isaiah’s message, although proclaimed centuries ago, is speaking to us as well as the people of his time.

We each have our own desert, our own wasteland. Our sin separates us from the love of God. Today we begin a journey where we focus on “making ready” this fruitless land in our lives.
How do we prepare for what God has in store, for that day when our savior will be born?
We know that weeds of sin grow in our hearts, strangling the fruits that God planted in us.
The first step in our preparation is to recognize the weeds. Identify the sin rooted deep in our hearts.
Next, pull up the weeds, ask for forgiveness and embrace God’s nourishment for the soil in your heart.
“The LORD himself will give his benefits. Our land shall yield its increase. Justice shall walk before him, and prepare the way of his steps.”
Psalm 85:13-14
As the week progresses, notices how your heart begins to increase in faith as you await anxiously for the greatest gift of love that only God could give, His son, our SAVIOR.
