Rejoice with joyful song… the eyes of the blind shall see, and the ears of the deaf be opened. Then the lame shall leap like a stag, and the mute tongue sing for joy.Isaiah 35:2,5-6
Only ten days til Christmas! Have you been patiently waiting for Christ, for your savior’s birth?
It’s very hard to be patient when you are excited with anticipation of a surprise. I love seeing the glee on kids faces of all the excitement as they look forward to Christmas or their birthday. In the anticipation there is a special joy present.
This joy is what the third week of Advent reminds us. It reminds us of the joy we receive from the gifts Christ gives us – the gift of salvation, the ability to hear and see what God’s guiding star in our life is. Receiving these gifts, we rejoice as our hearts leap and sing, accepting the goodness of all things God brings forth in our lives.
Today, the invitation is to prayerfully sit in the presence of God asking Him for your deepest desires. Your deepest desires, found at the core of your being, are the desires He wishes to give you. It is His will for you this Christmas and beyond.
