“Be strong, fear not! Here is your God. He comes with vindication; With divine recompense. He comes to save you.”
Isaiah 35:4
How many times does the angels say “fear not” or “do not be afraid” in the Christmas story?
In our world today, many people are afraid. Some are afraid of the end times. Others, the economy and the impacts on their family. Many fear the violent acts that have been prevalent in our society through active shooters and riots. And the list goes on.
Some ask, how could a God who loves us, allow these things to occur? Why would He not sweep down and rescue us?
In a few more weeks, He delivers to each of us at the doorstep of our hearts, a baby. Not just any baby, but a baby that represents His love, His mercy, His compassion and His promises to us.
Will your heart be open and ready to receive a gift tagged with your name on it?

I invite you to sit and review this year. Have you been afraid? Have you been angry? Have you lost hope? Have you lost faith?
Pause in silence and sit with those thoughts and feelings.
Now that you reviewed the year in your rearview mirror, I invite you to look forward and imagine the possibilities that this Christmas will bring, the abundance that your Father will bless you with.
Our happiness and joy is found in accepting the things of today with a faith and hope in the promises of tomorrow. This is what the season of Advent and Christmas deliver into our hearts. Our job is to ready our hearts, “prepare the way of the Lord!” (Isaiah 40:3)
